Your Post-Car Accident Checklist

One of the most terrifying situations that you can be in is to be the injured victim of a car accident. When this occurs, you are disoriented, your body hurts and may be badly injured, and your spirit is at a low ebb. With all of this going on however, after an accident you have to do all you can to keep your mind clear because this is a critical time to think through whether what happened to you is due to the behavior and actions of another person. If the answer is yes, that might make that person or entity liable for financial damages that are payable to you.

Damages can come to you as compensatory damages which include payments for things like medical bills, pain, suffering, loss of work, and loss of function, and punitive damages which can be assessed if the person who caused the accident is found to have been extremely negligent or reckless or caused the accident on purpose.

In order to increase the chances of you receiving compensation, as soon as you are in a position to following the accident, here are a list of things that will help your car accident lawyer has success in your case and get you the largest settlement.

Call 911

A lot of times people see an accident and think that someone has called 911, so they do not do it. This can cause delays in the police and ambulance arriving on the scene. So to be sure simply call them again. If emergency services are in route the operator will tell you, but better safe than sorry. The 911 operator will ask you for as many details about the accident as possible to make sure the people coming to the accident are prepared for the situation.

Get the Other Driver’s Contact Details

As soon as you are able you or someone who you are with should get the other driver’s full name, address, phone number, license, license plate number, email address and insurance information.

Make a Record of Everything That Happened and That You See

You should use the time right after the accident to try and notate everything that happened regarding the accident. If you can write then write it down or use the video recorder on your phone to record it. You should also take video and pictures of everything and not leave out even the small details. Take pictures of the cars, street signs and roads where the accident occurred. Go over what you were doing when you were hit, what you saw and heard and the actions of the other drivers involved in the accident. You might even want to draw a diagram of the location where the accident occurred. This information is critical because often people will forget large details of the accident later and this information is a key piece of evidence in a car accident case. The police will also make a report and if your information lines up with that report it is very powerful evidence for your case.

Get Details of Any Witnesses You See

Ask if anyone saw the accident and ask for their details. You attorney can interview these people later which can be helpful for your case.

If you are too hurt to do any of these things on, the scene ask someone else that you know who may be able to do them. If you are alone when you are being treated in the hospital you can do these things. They will be very helpful with your car accident case.

Sailing Into Your Vacations With Style, 7 Reasons To Float Away On a Cruise

If you have never taken a cruise vacation before then this is a post for you, written by someone who has been on over 11 breaks and vacations on some of the finest cruise ships in the world. There are a lot of common misconceptions about cruises such as them being insanely expensive, boring or that you don’t see much of your destination, all of which are untrue. The reason for the post today is to give you just a few reasons why you will fall in love with a cruise holiday, and why you should be on the lookout for offers or a last minute cruise deal.

Multiple Destinations

I absolutely love to travel and explore new places and when you take a cruise that is exactly what you can do, as you visit a number of different destinations. What I enjoy in particular is that the destinations which you generally visit during the cruise, are places which you’d be unlikely to visit on any other type of trip.

Breakfast With a View

Sometimes the simple things are the most special and for me, waking up each morning and drinking a coffee as I gaze across the ocean is something truly wonderful.

Days at Sea

Before my first cruise I was worried that I may get bored on the ship, on those days which are dedicated to just sailing. After my first trip however, I realized that these are some of the best days, because the ships are so well built for you to enjoy your time aboard. These are the days you can relax by the pool, head to the cinema, chat with friends and relax as you float across the ocean.

Price

The first thing to say is that cruise vacations are nowhere near as expensive as you may think and in terms of getting bang for your buck, it doesn’t get much better. For a single price you will have taken care of your accommodation, your transport, your food and most of your activities, an easy and cost effective way to travel.

Experiences

Some of the sights and experiences which you find on-board a cruise ship are simply stunning, and ones which you are unlikely to find on any other type of trip. There are few things more spectacular than watching a school of dolphins swim by your boat or to watch the Northern Lights shoot across the sky in the middle of the night. During your time on-board the ship, there are all kinds of wonderful things to see.

Luxury

Cruise ships seem to have a much higher level of service and hospitality than any other mode of transport which I have traveled on. The level of luxury which you can find here, the pampering and the first class service will be enough to make you want to come back again and again.

Meeting People

Being all together for such a long amount of time, especially on a confined vessel, means that you have plenty of chances to meet a number of new people. What I love most about cruises is that they appeal to all kinds of different characters. One day you could chat with an old couple from Spain, the next with a family from Newcastle, the perfect blend of people for you to meet.

Why not try out a cruise this year? I am sure that you will love it.

Learn the History of the Places you visit

When you end up at a venues on vacation, a day trip or even running about the area you live, do you take time to learn the history of the places you visit. For many individuals, getting to know a place before they visit it or immediately after is not all that uncommon. Whether historical significance or is a sentimental place, many delve into its background.

With that being the case, how best can you go about finding out the history of the places you visit?

Internet Can Be a Great Resource

One of the best resources to use when searching the history of the places you visit and even secrets of a place etc. is the Internet. Pre-Internet, many relied on books and other periodicals to find out background info. There is also of course word-of-mouth from people who’ve experienced some history.

So, if you might have interest in say Disneyland secrets, where best to start? You could do a general Google search to get you off and running. There is also the opportunity to learn more by visiting Disneyland itself.  One of the world’s most famous parks, Disneyland has welcomed visitors from near and far for decades. As such, millions of people have come to learn about this venue and all it has to offer. Stop for a moment to think about all Walt Disney accomplished in his life.

He was responsible for Disney World and Disneyland. He was also the man behind countless shows and characters. To say Walt Disney is an icon would in most cases be an understatement. Even decades after his death, people are still learning about this man. In going online and learning more about Disneyland, you become educated on Disney.

Knowing More About Hometown History

Even if you do learn a lot of information about the Disney brand, what about some venues in your own hometown?  Would you even consider taking a tour.

As many discover, they have some amazing history right in their neighborhoods. To dig a little deeper at home, ask around town if you are new to the area. If you’ve lived there most or all your life, there’s a good chance you know about some or many historical venues. One great thing in hometown history surrounding you is it makes a great education for kidsIn today’s world, too many kids unfortunately grow up without knowing a lot of details about their homes. To counter that, you can instill a sense of historical pride in them from an early age. That early age of course should be when they are able to comprehend such details.

Last, encourage your children to take pictures and even begin a journal. Before long, they will catch the history bug and want to pass it on one day to their own kids.

No matter where the venues you visit, learning about and appreciating the local history is important. From parks to homes and more, learning what is around you in life should always be on your checklist. So, will you take some interest in getting to know your surroundings?

To tour or not to tour, that is the question

We personally think tours are awesome, whether they are full tours that include hotels and the airfare, or day tours where you just spend a day seeing some sights, we love them all. We even love the hop on and hop off tours, though we really don’t consider them tours as much as informative transport. Both traveling with a tour group, and on your own, are great options for the traveler to see the world. We will discuss a few of what we think are pros and cons of both.

Pros to taking a tour

It’s easy and you don’t know much or to think much about what you are doing. Once you select the tour, you put yourself in their hands and away you go. There are some great tour companies such as TourOpp discount tours and they love what they do. You will learn a lot from a good tour guide. A tours is more relaxed and peaceful, you can take your time and are on nobody’s agenda. A tour is generally cheaper for doing the same things, as you travel in a group and can share some expenses such as the bus, as well as get bulk discounts. You will make new friends that can carry over into the rest of your life.

Cons to taking a tour

You are on a schedule, so you can’t always take the time you want, to see things. Things can be a bit rushed. They might not go everywhere you want them to go. You might be bored at a location, but stuck there until they are ready to leave.

Pros to traveling alone

You can take your time, and see everything you want. You can leave when you feel you have had enough. You can grab opportunities as they come up without having to wait for anyone. You have much more freedom.

Cons to traveling alone

It can be a bit more expensive such as if you have to take taxis and don’t know the local transportation. You can also get what we like to call a “tourist discount”, which can more than double the price of things. It can be much more confusing on your own, especially in a foreign language country. It might not be as safe, as you will not recognize the same danger as you might back home. You might miss a lot of great experiences as you just will not know about them. You might also not hear about the nuances of a location or the culture.

What we have found to be the most rewarding is both. We generally take a tour for an area, learn all the interesting things, the history, the culture, see what there is to see, then we can come back on our own and take more time. Once we know what there it there, it makes it so much easier to enjoy things you have seen before. Maybe eat at that cafe that you saw, or go shopping a little longer, or spend time in that museum, there are so many things. If you take the tour first, you never feel you have missed anything. There are many sites that have great tips and information on travel. So we suggest do your research an get yourselves in the hands of an experienced tour guide. Sit back and relax and literally watch the world go by.
